Sunday, May 29th update

Hello! This is Johnna, making an update with Rita sitting beside me here in Joplin. Rita is a quick learner (and all-around amazing lady) and will be taking the reigns from here.

This morning we set up an extensive gluten-free pantry at the Forest Park Baptist Church. Rita will be keeping an eye on inventory levels and replenishing as needed.

The overflow is at Rita's house. She has transformed her dining room into a food pantry, truly a gluten-free dream. Just in the last few minutes, a terrific couple from Minnesota, Ted and Dondi, arrived with a donation. The gluten-free community is so incredibly generous! Other donations have arrived, including some really yummy looking homemade cookies from Springfield, and others are scheduled to arrive this week.
If you are interested in donating, please contact Rita at glutenfreejoplin@gmail.com. She can help you with what is needed at the moment. Thank you so much!

I want to be just like both of you when I grow up!

Is there anything that you need right now?

  2. Hello Cookievore! This Sweetaholic has no plans of growing up, but thanks for your kind words. I am so impressed with your efforts in St. Louis--Missourians sure do an amazing job taking care of each other!

  3. Hi Cookievore, I noticed that the mother's with gluten free kids took the canned fruit that someone brought over but cans are heavy for mail. Maybe the little cups of fruit? We seem to have a pretty good selection for the moment. But we are just getting the word out to the community that it is here so that could change quickly. I will let you know. Thanks so much.. 4. Heavy cans are no problem with flat rate boxes from post office. I just pulled canned fruit (and some other kid-friendly stuff) from donations.
Should I send to Forest Park or your house? Direct message me on twitter with address or send me an email - info@freerangecookies.com
